Speed-pitching has
grabbed the attention of media, including NY1 News, Financial Times,
Crains, Observer, Business Week Online, Bloomberg Radio, Yahoo!
Finance, and many more. Prominent Tri-State area VC firms and angel
investors tout it as the most efficient way of finding investment
opportunities and for entrepreneurial companies, Speed-pitching
TM offers a truly unparalleled opportunity to sell their company
vision to interested potential investors, one-on-one.
Here's
a sample of funding institutions who have participated in Speed-pitching?
How
does Speed-pitching work?
Entrepreneurial CEOs submit their executive summary for consideration
in Speed-pitching tm. A group of judges chooses what they consider
to be the top 40, and the CEOs of the selected companies get 10
meetings each with potential backers. During the 5-minute meetings,
the Speed-pitchers have the opportunity to pitch their business
plan, in private setting and with the investors' undivided attention,
as entrepreneurs rotate in musical chair format.
Why
participate?
The results of the prior Speed-pitching events have
been spectacular. An average entrepreneur scores from 4-5 second
round meetings at the request of the VCs/angels, the top companies
getting a call-back from 9-10 investors. Several entrepreneurs have
been issued term sheets. Others have added advisors/board members
or merged with investor portfolio companies. All have penetrated
a new and valuable second tier of networks - courtesy of Speed-pitching.
Who
are the participating angels/VCs?
NYC's most active angels, archangel networks and VC firms that invest
in early and mid-stage technology companies. Our investors are seeking
to find companies in the following areas:
The
level of participating entrepreneurial companies has gone from relatively
early stage to much more advanced undertakings with proven revenue
models, thus diminishing investor risk.
